    Akasa Eclipse-62 3.5" bays

Am I paranoid or does removing the 3.5" covers from the Akasa Eclipse-62 case spoil the bezel (see pic below). Notice the gaps beside the 3.5" devices after the covers where removed Is there any workaround apart from installing no 3.5" devices at all

I've had my Eclipse for near a year now, and I must say that's the first time I've ever noticed that, after you said. It's never bothered me, but if you don't install a floppy then you can put a black plastic cover (like the ones above on the 5.25" bays on it I think.

I bought this case about 4 days ago. I love it! Although I can't get the reset and the two hard drive LEDs on the front to work! I'm connecting them up wrongly it seems, but I odn't know where!
What are the two different HDD LEDs for?

It replaced my lian-li PC-71 Server case.
To be honest, it looks better with the blanking plates intact. I don't have any 3.5" devices in mine. The blanking plates seem to be longer than they need to be, creating that area to the side of the 3.5" devices.

    I have this case...

Unless the case is very well illuminated, you wouldn't notice the slight (and it is slight) difference in colour shade to the right of the 3 1/2 bays.

But... I don't see why you don't just pop a cover off and take a look for yourself. You can always pop it back on afterward.

    Paranoia, tis a terrible thing.

Another Eclipse owner here and it doesn't spoil it at all, then again I do have the case side on, but with a window that big its criminal not to.

The HDD Lights are pointless, absolutley useless, the Power LED is so Bright (when you can get it working) that the green LED's for the HDD's dont even register, so hard to see even in pitch black.

Which is why you mod the PCB with three different coloured LED's

I still don't use the third HDD LED though... my motherboard doesn't have two HDD activity slots :/

HMMM...Modding eh? Good idea. Although I gotta find the rite pin configuration for the front LEDs first. I can't get either HDD light to work, and I don't have a soldering iron.

I get my last bits from Scan tommorrow. I will sort out my case and do it a lil photoshoOt and I'll post what my Eclipse looks like. Can anyone else post pics of lit/modded eclipse cases?

Here's mine lit up (focus is terrible I know), done some more cable tidying since then, and added my X-Fi, need to get some pictures of that installed, shame about the fugly beige data cable that it needs though. Got to sort something out about that.

With regards to the HDD lights I am going to try and sort something out when the watercooling gets here. Watch this space

That's cool, you got the same fan in the back as me. Do you have the maxi-view side window for yours?

My parts came!! Gotta sort it all out now. I'm never 100% happy with the state of my mod rig.

Yeh it's a good thing they are widely available, I had a thermaltake Xaser III once, and I cracked the side window, and of course I cound't buy a new one without getting a whole new case.
