    ATTN. All LanParty Board owners.

I wnated to know if you can help me. Does anyone have a lanparty board (maybe the SLi-DR like mine).

I want to know how to TURN OFF the fan speed/temperature link facility in the BIOS.
It adjusts the fans according to the component's temperature. That's all well and good when you DONT have a window and you DON'T have LED fans, but I do, and they keep dimming and lighting every couple of seconds and it's highly annoying.
Adjusting the temperature perameters doesn't seem to work.

Has anyone else had this problem?

    Cheers!!

    MD
    Martin

Just hook the fans upto the psu directly and not through the mobo

Many (most? all?) motherboards have the same problem. What you want is something that you can plug the fans into that is powered from your PSU. A fan controller may help.

Make sure Q-Fan is disabled in the Bios this could be why your fans are changing speed all the time.

I think you should be able to do this via the PC Health Status in the BIOS

Right ok. I will need to use some 3pin > Molex connectors then. The reason I avoid doing that is becuase it makes more mess in the case, more wires=bad.

I'll try find QFan, as the poster suggested.

    Thanks People.

    Thats ITE Smart Guardian

If I were you I'd go into PC health status in the BIOS and enter the temps that the fans go onto 100% as 10*C or something

Also you can use ITE smart guardian (on DFI site) to change fan spin settings at all temps

That ITE software restarts my computer spontaniously every time I run it. Had to uninstal it in safe mode!

Can anyone reccommend a good front fan controler?

    Thanks,
    Martin

    1. Set the full speed temperature real low
    OR
    2. In smartguardian set the same thing.

ITE shouldn't crash unless your system is unstable. But well, sometimes weird thing occur.
Just like on my A8N-SLI Premier the Asus Probe doesn't work with a floating point div 0 error. Then on my A8N-SLI Deluxe the auto-update tool doesn't work.

If you can't use either of those solution then adding wires/converter is the only choice. OR, simply replace the fan on your CPU to one that draws power directly from molex.

OR... If you wanna let the system alter fan speeds and retain your glowing goodness... Mod your fans so they draw off the motherboard and the LED's pull directly from your PSU...

Fairly simple mod with the right fans (at least in theory!!!). If you want to minimise cable clutter then howabout making a custom cable that runs around the case just for the fans / LED's... I have done it in the past and its a simple way of making your case look less cluttered.
