Name me a good CPU cooler.

    Hi there people.

I would like a good CPU cooler, heres what I need-

    -Socket 939 compatible

-Will be in a case with 80mm fans so NEEDS TO BE QUIET

    -Less than £35

-Needs to keep a processor with 1.5V running through it cool

I was thinking of a Big Typhoon but the color of the fan really puts me off (im picky). Also the base of it is really bad.

Zalman 9500 comes to mind but it is very expensive. I just want to see whether its worth it.

    Thanks people.

I got a Gigabyte cooler from Scan for £20 (with the free delivery for Hexus people) for a Socket 754 A64 3000+ (but it fits yours too). That CPU is overclocked 10% but no extra voltage. I was impressed with it, you have to fit the optional speed reducing lead but cooling is still good:

PS The one with the adjustable fan speed os only 3 quid more.

Thermalright x-120 or si-120 with a good / quiet 120mm fan on it. Best ones around, by far.

I have the gigabyte G-Power - good cooler. even on the lowest fan speed, my CPU hasn't crossed 32C yet, even after a gaming session. not too noisy. CustomPC did a review of it a little while ago and gave a really good review for s939 boards..

I also have a Gigabyte G-Power Pro, but I think it IS too noisy, even when slowed below the minimum with speedfan.

Well I like the cooler, but I hate the orange crap lol.

To add a fan I want it will cost £42, for that much I can get a Zalman 9500.....

    confused man! lol

"Name me a good CPU cooler"

Well, I've got one called Alf that seems to be quite friendly.....

Seriously, Vapochill Micro Extreme (check Scan)

92mm fan, with controller, (there is a "quiet" version but I bought the ordinary one) Noisy on full blast but its not necessary, mines just ticking over, and keeping my 3000 ( @280 X 9 1.5v) well under 30c normall usage, under 45c torture

Same can be said for CNPS9500, cant even hear anything at 5v. At 12v it just sounded like G-Power's lowest setting. Serious peice of hardware really...

Vaporchill is pretty cool.. but the build quality seemed rahter cheap. If u have 40 quid u might as well take the plunge for a CNPS9500. Quietest and 2nd most powerful cooler I've used (my 90C with a tornado kisses most cheap water cooler ass)
    Me want Ultrabook
