DDR2 - Info please
I have been aware of DDR2 for a good while now, but it still doesn't seem to be mainstream. I cirtianly don't see much in online computers shops, and nobody I know has it, even though it's been out for over a year.
Does DDR2 require a different type of RAM slot? Is it faster with a mid range AMD64 chip than normal PC3200?
Thanks Peeps

AFAIK, DDR2 is only supported by P4 processors, so it wouldn't work with an AMD.
Feel free to prove me wrong though!

DDR2 is currently an intel thing and the real world benefit was/is negligible due to it having slower latency which canceled the clock speed advantage. AMD did not adopt DDR2 because their was no reason to do so and it would only add to cost. The next AMD socket due soon will support DDR2 which is now much cheaper.
