Printer - Simple Cartridge Replacement?

In need of a printer, I decided against going out to buy a new one and dusted off my epson stylus colour 580. This has been sat in a room in storage for about 3 years with the cartridges left in.

Epson's ink monitor tells me the black cartridge is half full. I go to print a black ink test and nothing happens, it appears to print but not even a mark is left on the paper.

Possible thoughts:-

Blocked?
Dried up ink?

Cartridges are cheap for this now ( ) but dont want to waste a few quid if nessecery. Any ideas as to what could be wrong?

EDIT : Ink is still wet, just poked a pin into the cartridge....so its looking blocked?
