    SATA Cables...

    This has probably been asked before loads of times, but you guys know the best solutions to the silliest of problems!

    I've just turned my dev box on to find it will boot, but struggles with loading anything... wiggled the cables about a bit to find that the SATA cable is loose, it's a non clippy one.

    What do you guys reccommend to keep it in place? I've barely moved the thing apart from to hoover round it.

    None clippy SATA cables? Which port is the SATA cable loose from? The M/Board or Drive?

    The drive, it's quite snug on the motherboard.
    It's getting on my nerves now though

    Sounds like you need some better quality SATA cables, perhaps you need the type with the 90 degree elbow connection on one end for the drive socket? You can pick these up from ebuyer although I haven't trawled around for the cheapest cables, I'd imagine they'll all be around the same price.

    Blu-tak! I hold everything in with blu-tak, even my fans (there isn't a single fan screw inside my case!).
    Oh and if anybody knows if blu-tak is bad for circuitry, please let me know!

    Sticky tape, or even just glue it. It's nearly always likely you'll need a sata cable in the sata slot, and if you really have to get rid of the cable you can (carefully) use solvent to unglue it.
