Depends what you are powering.
If it's an Athlon XP /nF2 type system it will probably be fine, if it's an overclocked 939/nF4/7800 type system I would be very wary of it dying at some point (& taking out other stuff with it's death throes).
In all fairness they did move production from 1 oem psu manufacturer to another at 1 point so maybe it's the first mfr's production that has given them such a bad rep.

Hi Guys it actually arrived today i phoned Misco and to my surprise they are gonna take it back and refund me fully! I had a look at the case and it was a Flimsy Load of Crap, i obviously did not open the PSU i will take your advice and get something different. My budget will now be £120 (Case & PSU) to remind you i am looking to put a AMD 3500+ or even a AMD dual 3800 & a Asrock 939 Dual sata AGP/PCIe (cheapo) into the case. It will need to be Noob freindly to put together a removable mobo tray will be good!
Hope you can give me some good suggestions in Cases/psu's

A 500W Seasonic would be a good investment.. overkill, but its pretty much future proof.

Althernatively a 480W Tagan or a 530W variant if u fancy. I have 2 530W easycon and they have served me well...
Me want Ultrabook

Look for an XClio 480W on scan's today only - they are actually antec units, otherwise go with a tagan or other good makes 430-480W.

The Asrock dual sata2 is a great board, and takes a 20pin cable.

Case-wise the chenbro spider or spider 2 might be a steal. I have a centurian 5 which is ok but not great. You aren't likely to get a removable tray for a budget price though. But you honestly don't need it.

Lightbulb

I did my first build about 6 months ago and had the same issue. Basically what everyone told me was to go for a big name reliable PSU because if you get a cheapie it might just blow the rest of the PC up. I got an Enermax Noisetaker and am really happy with it - totally 939 friendly too. Case I went for was a Coolermaster Centurion 5, and i'm also very pleased with that - the access is great, it's cold running, tool-less installation, enough places to hide wires and it looks good too. Cheap as chips for what you get! Good luck with your next purchase bud

Fantastic

It's not perfect - there are definately some compromises that I discovered only after getting the board, but it's more than worth it.

The main compromise is not being able to run ram stabley with a 1T cmd rate. If you're someone who just sets something up out of the box and doesn't worry about that sort of thing then you won't notice a difference, but other motherboards can usually be tweaked to run stable with this, but the ASrock can't. It makes a few % difference in performance compared to more expensive boards.

Other limitations are purely for more extreme overclockers - the fsb can < sarcasm>*only* </ sarcasm> go up to 274mhz (the normal being 200) - I can live with that limitation thankyou! Also there doesn't seem to be an option to increase the CPU voltage, which also affect extreme CPU overclocking supposedly.

But basically for my uses the 1T thing was the only -ve for me, and the rest of the board more than makes up for it - it does not seem like a budget board at all - fantastic features and performance, and a manual that's actually useful! Good support from ASRock too in my experience (emailed them about something that turned out not to be a m/bo problem).

Er and yes, the X2 3800 goes great in there

for a PSU have a look at hipers modular range - there a little pricey, but there so worth it. I bought a cheapo ebuyer extra value case with PSU for my first PC - i got a hell of a shock off it so im wary of PSU's now, id rather pay that bit more for quality. Well worth a look if nothin more...

There is only 1 case you should be buying if you're on a budget, and fortunately its from scan atm

Scan Alumax Midi Aluminium Case without PSU Hi End £21.14, today only.

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/produ...oductID=330179

It's pretty good, I bought one for a friend, it also looks good (better than the pics) but that price makes it unbeatable. There are a few things you may need to do, like drill a hole/cut out the blanking plate area with a hacksaw, but aluminium is a soft metal so its nice and easy. If its a vaguely old mobo, it may fit without mods anyway The front also has a 'layer' of perspex over it - I was wondering what effects could be etched into this...
