    Exclamation New shuttle build problems

    Hello all

I’m new to discussion forums so please excuse this if this problem has already been posted.

I just built a shuttle SB95P V2 and gave it an Intel 3.73 Extreme Edition, OCZ PC2 4200 1GB dual channel Gold edition set, and a ATI All-In-Wonder X800XL. 40GB western Digital IDE HD

    My problems are these:

The computer after installing windows did not post, I removed one of the memory sticks and it solved that problem

The computer does not like to restart, the screen goes black and I must wait 5 mins for a successful boot. I never had a successful restart yet.

This rig is pumping some serious heat! Temp in BIOS shows 65-67c on CPU (Is that too hot)? and 40's on the other temps, smart fan control is on and BIOS is up to date.

Should I have bought a different CPU compound? I used the one shuttle supplied.

Could the booting problem be from my memory? I’m forced to run only one of the sticks now.

ATM I’m running Hot CPU Tester Pro 4 on the shuttle, I will post the results

TBH, you're running a VERY heat-producing CPU in a very small box - it's bound to get toasty.

Using a different heat transfer compound might help a bit, but it'll be 3-4 degC at best.

However, if it works OK, it's not too hot. That said, it looks like heat may be a factor in the problems you're having.
