    Ocuk Rma Ok!

Appologies for the dodgy topic title.

How long have RMA'd items taken to be sorted in your past experiance?

I ask, because I've just had a very good experiance with OverClockers UK.

I RMA'd a broken ABit NF7-S motherboard and a Sapphire 9800pro 128 to them, with the email comfirming that it had arrived at their store in my inbox Monday morining.

Tuesday morning, there was an email telling my replacement items had been packed, processed, and were ready to go.

I was expecting 7-10 days, or worse.

    Top marks Overclockers.

How's your experiance been with other websites?

never really had any problems with them, but i give them credit for my last order.

2 items were out of stock, i asked if i could have the others sent ( i did pay 800 quid ish ) and 13 quid or sumit on p+p ( but i did buy a PC-75 )

Anyway, they said sure nps, few days later, i was drooling, then when the bits came into stock ( although a few days late ) came knocking to my door, cant knock that really, and i expected to get stung for another 5 quid pnp or something

You should post your experiences on http://www.romulus2.com/feedback/chart.php?1 given the other experiences listed on there, they need all the help they can get!

Here's the review I did of Overclockers...

Hmm, where to start? A bit of a mixed bag, my experiances with Overclockers UK, so far.

    First the good points:

    I ordered a Athlon 2600+, an ABit NF7-S Motherboard, and a Sapphire Radeon 9800pro 128.

All arrived quickly, and all items were well packed. The prices were top notch, and their website seems to get the basics right - products have a picture of the item, not just a description and a serial number.

Website is easy to use, and really, for a point and click site, where you browse, order and wait for delivery, its great.

Also, their RMA service is great; actually, in my experiance, its perfect. I connected them, explaining that the motherboard and graphics card had broken, they gave me a RMA number on the spot, and I sent it back.

They got the parcel Monday morning, and Tuesday morning I had the email telling me my parcel had been packaged, and was ready to go.

Can't be bad. So, a perfect score then? Well no.

They have a good few little niggling issues, that they need to sort out, to be an automatic first choice, when ordering.

Firstly, they don't seem to be able to do that hiddeously difficult task - replying to emails. I've mailed them on two occasions, and neither time did I get a reply.

Secondly, I ordered about £90 of stuff from them, mostly small items, like rounded IDE cables, Akasa case fans, and the like. Part of the order was a tube of Artic Thermal III, and when it arrived, it was a tube of Ceramique.

No big deal, but would it have killed them to email me informing me of this? Also, the item was cheaper than the one I ordered, but they charged me for the more expensive item.

So, in short - the get the basics right; good website, good delivery and RMA turn-around, and a large selection of competativly priced goods.

If they could get the PR sorted, they'd be onto something. Treat customers as people to keep happy, and not just people needing to be seperated from their money, and I'd rarely order elsewhere.

    Thats a great site

It definately helps if you are thinking about ordering from a company that you haven't ordered from before so you can look it up on that database.

Hmm... I had a nightmare returning, ram, cpu and mobo. I had an Epox 4g4a+ but they returned a 4g4a, i asked them to refund the difference, never replied to my emails. It all took about 1 month as well.

So i gave up and i don't use them anymore. Yeah the PR they need to work on, if you give 'em grief i think they ignore you even more.

Having said that, i know lots of people who use them regular with little or no trouble. I use Komplett now whom i have heard similar complaints of but they've been fine so far, touch wood...

I have no comments to make about OcUK, their policies, or their service (well, service is one word you can use....) I do not wish to cause Hexus grief by posting inflammatory remarks, but I think that the more astute of you may get the impression that I am not impressed with them!

In my RMA experience (over the years):

    Komplett - relatively quick.

Dabs - quick and good (now seem to be sliding a little I think).

Maxtor - make you ship all the way to Ireland (so classed as International) but quite fast and willing to upgrade your old part if needs be (eg 60GB 5400 replaced with 80GB 7200).

OCS - not that it matters now but totally ignore you.

Ebuyer - awful and happy to send the same part back to you if they even give you an RMA number or acknowledge receipt of your return.

Not that that's indicative of overall RMA's certainly now but that's my experiences as I recall them.

In my opinion, lets just say it's not without reason that OcUK come 20th of the 25 retailers with current ratings on that feedback chart.

I am very surprised that Dabs come BELOW Ebuyer though! Without checking the table I would have said Dabs had dropped a little whereas Ebuyer have improved (I couldn't believe they were still in business 1-2 years ago they were so bad). Checking the 'Old Rank' indicates that Dabs have dropped from 17 to 19 whereas Ebuyer have gone from 26 to 17! Perhaps with only 91 votes it's easier for Ebuyer rating to be 'inflated' (Dabs have 602 votes for example). Still it's a great link and a nice thing to have ... I wonder how much extra trade CaseTech.co.uk will be getting?

Hopefully a lot. This chart shows the importance of customer service which really deserves to be rewarded, maybe I should use the link as a signature.

Ive had a very bad experience with OcUK:

    1) baught a new Epox 8K3A mobo this time last year, within 2 weeks it broke, somthing on the back blew. They then wanted me to take a picture of the problem area. How can u make an accurate analysis of a half decent picture of a blown line. Its hard enough looking directly at a mobo for problems yet alone at a picture. Long story short they woulnt replace it and said it was a faulty PSU (what ever happend to POST) of mine or i had installed it wrong, which i found quit insulting because ive built many pcs and tbh i know what im doing.

Previous to buying this board i had spent near 2 grand the following year on a new system, thanks very much and the people over the phone we not very nice to my parents when they had a word with them. their 2.79 score on that site for aftersales says it all. They wont be having money from my credit crd again.
