Does anyone know if heat is an issue with these things?
Been looking at it and it only seems to have one 120mm fan.

If anyone has one of these cases can you tell me, is the heat an issue? or is it worth getting an extra two fans on the sides blowing air in with the 120mm on the back extracting.

Also will a 512MB 7800 GTX and a Zalman Fata1ity cpu cooler fit in?

You don't really want to put a 7800GTX in such a small case. You will probably have heat and power problems loading all the lastest high power kit into a small form factor case.

Yeh I did think that, but was wondering, if I put a vent in the side of the case next to the GPU with a fan blowing air onto it wouldn't it be ok?

I should think it would be ok, providing you limit yourself to 1 harddrive and 1 DVD and don't go crazy with the processor. but then if you don't get a decent processor your extra money on your gtx will be wasted as the system will probably be cpu limited. You need a top of the range processor to take advantage of a gtx fully, better off with a gt otherwise.

That case is £21 on special atm at scan, it's normally £70 and it's all aluminium. If you're worried about heat get that. Absolute bargin atm.

You'll need to be brave as well.. requires some metal cutting for getting rid of the old backplate..

Just got an Aspire X-Qpack (although am using onboard 6100 graphics for the purposes my friend needs), and it seems that space and fans are not a particular problem, particularly if you do the sensible thing and get an arctic cooler to vent the exhaust using a spare PCI slot. I am using this machine with a Gigabyte nForce 4 mATX board (http://www.giga-byte.com/Motherboard...K8N51GMF-9.htm - sorry, am on a work PC and cant get the proper advanced link icons to work) and have no need to fill any of the 3 PCI or 1 PCI-Express slots - the motherboard does it all!

It is however a little noisy, but then again I am using a stock AMD heatsink / fan...

Surely if I just put a fan on either side of the case blowing air inside the temps should be fine. I won't be using up anymore PCI slots as I have no need to so the air flow should go straight onto the GPU.
I was thinking of going for a 512MB 7800GTX and an AMD 64 4000.

I found the one I use very noisy with it only having a thin plastic cover. Replaced the rear fan with a slower silent one. Popped in 2 more 9cm silent fans to blow air towards the back of the case, and a fan controller keeps the noise down to reasonable levels. I also replaced the PSU, (don't trust bundled PSUs myself, but that's just my opinion) as it uses the same 12cm fan as comes with the case, which sounds like a small hurricane.

Had to use the Dremel to fit the 6600GT (Silent silent pipe version) as there wasn't much headroom below the psu - which might be a problem with a beast of a card like the 512GTX - With all those pipes sticking out of the top, I think you'ld have to cut away so much of case that you'd effect it's structural rigidity.

On a similar note, I struggled to slide the mobo plate into the case with the gfx attached, and had to twist the case a little to slide it home. Suffice to say, I won't be adding any more PCI cards to this system... hurrah for USB!!!!

IMHO, you're best off finding a different case.
