    SDRam Mobo

A mate of mine is looking for a new Mobo/CPU but it needs to be able to Take SDRam

    I was looking at:
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=298167
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=293097

Will that Mobo take SDRam, and if not, can anyone recommend one for around £40 that will? He has about £100, but with the CPU out that leaves about £45

    Cheers,
    Matt

Doubt if you will get a new board that takes sdram or if you can it will be old school stuff and cost a bomb, Probably best to search for a second hand motherboard on ebay or wait till next payday when they have more money for some decent memory

My life just gets worse, the people at work call the music I like 'old school', now my motherboard (a ASUS A7V-133) is old school ...

... yeah right ... I don' know of any S754 SDRAM motherboards, if you wanted an AMD CPU I think you'll only be able to get socket A. How much SDRAM does 'he/she' have? might be an option to buy cheap DDR.

I'm off to work to be a grumpy old git now...

By the way guys, be careful about using the acronym SDRAM (synchronous dynamic RAM). This does not denote whether it is DDR or older SDR.

In fact the proper terms are DDR SDRAM (double-data rate) and SDR SDRAM (single-data rate).

Regarding the original question, you're best up saving a bit more for a gig of DDR400 RAM.
