    SN85G4 V3 setup problems

    I got my SN85G4 V3 and it's a rocket! r :-)
I have a couple of problems. WinXP Pro is not recognizing the network adapter in net diagnostics. Device manager says that it's there and fine,
but there's no lights showing on the back (should there be?) or on my router.
    Anyone have any ideas?

Is the cable good and correct type? Is it plugged in to the proper port on your router?

    SN85G4 v3 networking problem

The best way I can reply to you is that Device Manager sees the network adapter and says its running properly.
However, when I run Network Diagnostics it sees no network adapter.
I'm not familiar with the way the Shuttle mobo is set up but I'm expecting to see a light at the LAN connector on the back indicating it's running, and I don't.
The cable is one that was just used to successfully connect two other desktops.
My configuration is that I have an AMD Athlon XP system connected to a LinkSys router which also connects my broadband. When I connect up the Shuttle it sees nothing AND AS I said above, network diagnostics from XP sees no network adapter.

    Thank you,

If you connected the two computers directly then you have a crossover cable, which will not work. You need a straight patch cable to hook the NIC in your Shuttle to the router.

    Shuttle setup problems redux

    sloppy phraseology!
both PCs are connected to a LinkSys router, which connects in the DSL.
It shows lights for both connections, but the network diagnostics on the Shuttle system don't see the networl adapter.

    Better explanation?

    still thanking! :-)
