    Best all-in-one printer? Any advice?

I have a HP PSC2110 all-in-one (horrible printer!) which has finally died.

Any advice on a decent all-in-one printer i could get for under £100?

    Basically it needs to:
    • Scan well and quickly
    • Print reasonably quickly (mainly word processing + DTP),
    • And print a good quality photo when needed

Printing onto printable CD/DVD's would be a bonus

    Any advice gratefully accepted!

    Thanks

here's an idea, why not buy a seperate scanner and printer, so that way if one part goes you don't need to replace the whole lot?.. I also advise saving up for a laser, they cost far less to keep running and have a far longer lifespan.

Got an HP 5110. Nice printer (never use the fax facility) and can photocopy at the same time! However, HP do not offer XP 64 bit drivers (!!!!) and I'm really struggling to get it working as a network printer (officially not supported by HP but there has to be a way! ;o)

I've got an Epson RX425, Cost me £100 but you can get them for £80 now if you shop around. It's one of the photo range, so prints everything great, from black text to 10x15cm pics on Photo paper. It's pretty quick and also quiet.

The Scanner is a quality piece as well, high quality weither doing straight copies or to the computer. And it has a nice feature where it'll print out the contents of a memory card, you pick which ones you want, slap it back in the scanner and it'll only print the ones you asked it too.

Other good features include the Card Reader, that connects straight to the PC as a USB Card Reader.

All it's really missing is a screen, and at £80 you can't grumble really.

Yeah, i saw that - was wondering if the fact that it's only usb 1.1 makes much of a difference. Can't seem to find many reviews on it.

Well I can give you a review on it, it's a fantastic piece of equipment is the RX425. USB 1.1 Doesn't make a differance to me anyway, it's rapid enough for my uses.

Ink Wise it is worth spending the extra money on official inks (£23, Amazon with 100 sheets of photo paper) as the un official ones seem to make the heads jam, although a single clean normally clears that.

All in all, I payed £100 for mine and it was more than worth that money, so at £77 it's a bargain.
