If I had to choose, I'd go with the HP. I know 64-bit operating systems aren't exactly mainstream yet, but the upgrade potential is there. The only aspect where the Dell is better is the screen resolution...do you need the extra screen space? You've mentioned you just play movies and browse the Web for which the WXGA screen of the HP is perfectly adequate.

Also, which graphics card does the HP come with?

go for the Dell, they make okay laptops and you will notice the difference. The centrino processors are pretty good, and the 4200RPM HDD on the HP will be distinctly slow, and you'll notice that. The dell also comes with seperate GFX card, which will run some lower level games

true.. unless u can spec the HP like Dell.. then just dump that 4200rpm drive for a 5400rpm.. Dump the S3 chrome (usually) that comes with Turion systems for a X700 or something..

Clock for clock the Turion and Pent-M is pretty comparable.. 2Ghz Turion will be roughly a 1.9Ghz PM.. so ur not losing out much..

The only.. but MAJOR downside with Dell systems are the rediculous super lousy vivaciously annoying, totally useless + a christmas shovel bloatwares that comes with all their XPs. And if you're bold enuf to format the system.. there goes ur warranty.. (dont get all angry at me.. I'm just speaking from my experience with DELL Australia), Dell UK might be superly different..
    Me want Ultrabook
