Gaming Headset / Mouse / Speakers

Im looking to buy a Gaming Headset (must have mic) and mouse right now, and will probably be buying a 5.1 speaker system in the future if i cant get my current 5.1 system working (see other thread of mine).

Looking for advice on all 3 . I have £80 to spend atm (my brother may pay me back 50% of it later).

    Scan is preferred

    Thanks again.

EDIT: How much of a difference to good mouse mats make. Im currently using a cheap optical mouse on a bit of white paper (it worked crappy on my crappy mouse mat). If there worth purchasing, recomend me one of these aswell.

Needs new monitor / speakers / headphones / keyboard.

Compared to a bit of white paper? get a mouse mat.

But in all honesty, I wounldn't spend more than a few quid. Only reason I got an icemat was its glass, and its easier to clean my dead flesh from. (I use my computer a lot...)

Well if the 80 is just for the mouse and headset, get yourself a Razer Copperhead (or Diamondback), an eXactMat, and a Plantronics gamecom1 (brilliant headset, look on ebay for the best deals!)

    I'm using a senheiser pc1300, got it from play.com for £25 it's really good http://www.play.com/play247.asp?pa=s...C&title=597269
it's only 18 at the moment. I wouldn't bother spending too much on the headset. I'm using an mx1000 mouse..that's good too.

If you are after some 5.1 headphones with a mic then check out the Speed link Medusa head sets. i have a pair and they are fantastic. (word of warning, don't buy the usb version) they are very comfy and worth it just for the presentation box you get!! lol

Another vote for the Medusa's and for the Mouse you have to get the G5. I have one and all my mates tried once and ordered one immdeiatly (one even ebayed a Copperhead to get one!). They are fantastic, the feel in your hand is superb, waaay better than the Razer design, they are fantastically accurate in games its really noticeable, you can actually hit what your aiming for the weight system is great and the ability to change DPI on the run is great for games like BF2 where your in lots of different situations. I cannot find one thing wrong with it!

On mats, as I said all my mates and plenty of people in my clan have a G5 and we use em on pretty much everything and anything. A couple of peeps use teflons baking trays, some use Icemats (you need the firmware upgrade) but the best apparently (I use my super smooth desktop) is the fUnc 1030 which can be got for a tenner off Alienware.

    Which Mouse

I would personally get yourself one of these:
    Plantronics DSP 500 Headset (HP-008-PT)
I play probably 15hrs of WOW with Skype per week and this h/set is both comfortable and clear, even acceptable for music, also only £39.89 inc VAT THIS WEEK ONLY AT O/C's.
Plus Logitech MX518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse and you can still afford a mat, or imo go for the Logitech G5 Gaming-Grade Laser Mouse and forget the Mat - i use my desk which is fine, although if you want cordless like me go for the Logitech MX1000 Laser Cordless Mouse as it's a really good all rounder and no pesky wire
