    £800 system

Price out your ideal system if you had £800, I'll make my suggestion later so as not to bias anything. Don't bother including mice/keyboards/monitors/speakers

Thats gets you a top of the range motherboard with hardware audio solution, a processor reknowned for its OCing potential (though you will have to research and acquire the ideal stepping), a solid GFX card and 1 GB high quality ram. Also from what I have heard, a solid PSU.

I'm ordering one tonight for my friend, using komplett's PC builder (which at my figuring, seems to cost an extra £20 odd for them to build / install / test it all, seems like a bargain).
This is a quick example spec:

    AKASA Powersupply ATX/EPS 12V 400W
    Corsair Value S. PC3200 DDR-DIMM 1024MB

Total: £815 inc VAT. Note that it DOES include Windows!

My system (on left) was less than 800 all in (inc. software etc.) It doesn't show the centurion 5, xclio 480w, 120gb hdd, DVD+-RW, 7in1 card reader+floppy, cables etc.

That was roughly what I paid for my system too, good set up, can't go wrong.
