    9800 Pro issue...

Friend o' mine just got a 9800 Pro from Retek but there seems to be some slight problems with playing CSS (other games run perfectly - NFS: Most Wanted / Quake 4). It'll play in 'high' quality and everything will appear fine but then a kind of interval lag/judder sets in. He gets a constant 55/60 fps so it doesn't seem to be directly linked to graphics but then the problem goes away when CSS is set to 'low' quality and I don't think it's his connection as his ping remains the same. Windows is a clean install and we've tried the latest ATi/Omega drivers but it just won't go away.

Does anyone have any ideas? Many thanks.

might be better off posting that on a CS forum, don't play the game or use the card myself

I used to play CSS on my old 9800 Pro, lol, but never got exactly that problem. There was a sound-threshing/juddering effect in HL2 that I'm not aware they ever resolved but I never got that in CSS. No help then

this could be down a a command in his config. on low tick servers 33tick and sum 66 tick servers if u have cl_interpolate set to 0 you will experience a juddering effect. try setting cl_interpolate 1 and see if that helps
