My temps are about 45 idle but it doesn't get much hotter than that under load, I think it's designed to keep the temp as close to that as possible by varying the fan speed. Worth pointing out is that it is whisper quiet, when the CPU is idle the fan barely spins at all and even stops for a few seconds at a time. Says a lot for the heatsink itself IMHO.
That said, when I installed it I just used the thermal material that came in the little tube along with the cooler itself rather than Arctic Silver or similar, I dunno how much difference that makes. Also it was the first time I'd ever used that sort of stuff so I may not have done it right
