    Recommend Me a New Motherboard...

I currently have a ASRock P4S55FX2 and have done for a year now, has already blew up, so had to send back to be replaced, now the computer is acting in the same way, so have a feeling this is going to happen again so have decided to splash out on a new one to actually work and not freeze my computer from time to time, anyone any recommendations?

Have had the following information drilled into me on another site

DONT buy SIS chipsets, as for recommending another mobo, stick with Intel based chipsets by Asus or Abit.
    lol!

Anybody recommend the ASUS P4P800 - SE?

    Thanks!

An intel 865 chipset board should be nice and stable as well as supporting your cpu and all the other componets. They're getting rarer but here's a linky to an asus board with the chipset and socket 478. As long as you're sure it's the board that has caused all your issues this should be perfect for you.

Edit: Just noticed that's a board you're asking about. Haven't experience with personally but it's a good chipset and a good board maker so hopefully should be a decent board.

Out of intrest, what PSU are you using? Could be the problem with the PC freezing and the mobo blowing in the 1st place...

I can recommend the Asus 865 board, deluxe (think it's the P4P-800 Deluxe or something).

Just make sure you get an Intel Chipset, they are far and away the best, and Asus made good solid boards with some nice overclocking features too.

If the mobo blew up, as said, it could be PSU related. If you have a cheap generic PSU, I would be looking to get a 400W reputable PSU (ie from Tagan, Enermax, etc)

Using Everest, found out i have the dreaded SiS chipsets, which would be a bad thing lol!

Probably going to go for the deluxe from Amazon 72 pounds:

My PSU is a Win Power atx - 450

I have this adapter which goes into the PSU:
