    Question Recommend me a new HSF

    Hi,

    It's time for me to change my stock cooler. I've heard good things about the following 3..

    I'd probably go with the Nexus fans on the XP-120 and Xp-90

    Do you think they'll be much difference in performance between the 90 and 120?

    The XP-90C is a great cooler but fairly heavy being 100% copper, so in a tower case it will put some load on a vertical motherboard.

    I have the SI-120 and it's light, silent with a 1400rpm fan and cools extremely well.

    ah great thanks for the info on the xp-90......i reckon it's the 120 then!

    My case is pretty big but i'm a little worried that as it's 120mm it may cover my dimm slots. I have a Gaming Bomb 2 with an Asus Premium.

    Any one got this mobo with this HSF?

    Cheaper than the 120.
    Fits the A8N Premium.
    Silent 120mm fan at 16dba.

    I'm a big fan on my Zalman CNPS9500, its not as big as the Sp120 so no clearence issues etc but is performance is great.

    On mine, the heatsink does cover the dimms so you need to seat your RAM before the heatsink. Although, the good point is my RAM is probably much cooler with a fan blowing down on it!

    Thats another PLus point of the Zalman, it can be mounted in loads of different ways so you can direct the airflow wherever you want. Its also really easy to install, on SKT 939 boards you normally don't even need to take the motherboard out.
