jus installed xp on a clean hdd, now ive got my old hdd connected but some of my divxs are now messed up
the files are there, but apparently are 0bytes big
its only a few of them, others are fine
any ideas

Scandisk and Antivirus? Is it since you plugged it in to your new system? Did you o/c before? When was the last time you verified the files?

Yep, checked their file size was reported correctly and that they played (which is most important). If you run Scandisk on the drive in question it should sort out any corruption caused. Do you run Scandisk or Defrag often? Have you kept the Win Update (Critical) up to date and regularly ran and updated Antivirus sw? Here's some free AV ...
