Teac W548E Cd/R/wr.
Would I be better fitting a Dvd rom Cd/R./Wr. as a single unit
rather than the two seperates above.
If so recomendations would be appreciated.

and believe me, I should know I have enough.
No - keep the two so you can do direct-disk-to-disk copying.
IMHO there's been no point with on-the-fly copying since 8 speed CD Writers. Still there's no advantage a single combi has over 2 seperates other than space saving so you may not need to change.
If you want to get a single drive you are better off buying a DVD writer
Or wait until DVD writers are the same sort of price as CD writers.
But as already said, the only advantage of having a single drive is saving an IDE channel spot. So as long as you dont need the spot for another hard drive or sometihng, then stick with the two.
