Smile What power supply do I need?

I'm about to build a new system as follows, trying to figure out what kind of power supply to get.

X2 3800+ overclocked as far as I can go on air (without too much effort however)
    2 GB ram
    X1800XL or 7800GT
    Creative Audigy soundcard
    2 or 3 160GB hard discs
    1 dvd drive
    Epox 9NPA ultra MB

Can I get away with a decent quality 430 watt drive, or do I need something better?

    Cheers in advance..

    Pete

I would go for more than 430 tbh, cutting it a bit fine there!

    You need more like 500W.

Something like a tagan 480W, or hiper, fsp and the like will probably suit you better.

Hi I agree with Jonny 430 W with all that really is cutting it fine, go for at least 500 W from a good manufacture or you my regret it with poor stability/overclock.

Without SLI, 430 is fine, but 480 is safe.

    I recommend a 10,000kW PSU!!?!?! WTFLOL

Seriously... a Tagan 430W ATX2.01 Easycon SLi PSU will handle your rig no problem for £55.

Unless you plan on adding 100 disk RAID5 array.

LOL. I was thinking of recommending an Enermax 600W or 700W but thought no one would see the joke.

Also put the Seasonic 430 or 500 on your shortlist.

Yea, you have to be extra sarcastic for people to get it when it comes to PSUs :/

People cronicly overrate PC power usage.

I've a 480W tagan TG-U01 in my system at home

I've got quite a few HDD's connected, 2 x 6800GT's and 2 optical drives and it's highly stable, unlike the owner

Tapped your details into this http://www.extreme.outervision.com/index.jsp
I make it about 355W for your rig, so a decent 430W is more than enough.

You really don't need over 400W for anything other than SLI (or a huge RAID array). I run SLI, SCSI disks, and an overclocked A64 4000+ on a tagan 480W and it has no problems.
