    spec check/advice..

as the title says just want some advice if this system would "reasonably"good/last for awhile, just a couple of issues i wanted to check out before buying,
hiper type-r psu would there be an issue putting it in my lian li pc61 case (lead issues?)
and is it worth buying a western digital hd with a 16mb cache or will i not notice much difference between the 8mb and 16mb?,cheers

depends wat ur using it for i guess.. the cpu seems about right..

The board is AGAIG, premium choice really...

Might want to try some of Scan's CVS CAS 2.5 offerings.. not much diff tbh, but hey, its just a tad more...

6800GS is getting a little dated, might want to dish out £50 more for a decent 7800GT offering.

16MB cache has no real improvements watsoever.. 8MB disks are more than adequate

Lots of the hommies here are using Hiper, but u cud always try Tagan or Seasonic's stuff...
580W is overkill for the stuff ur using tbh, u cud get away with just a decent 350W..

CASE: the best one out of all ur selections.. go for it

CPU cooler: I think there's a thread about the ultimate CPU cooler.. I'm always a Zalman/ Gigabyte fan.. so you already know what Im going to recommend...
    Me want Ultrabook

That Processor is fantastic, I've been really impressed with it.

Another vote for the Hiper, great PSU and stacks of people use them. I'd rather have overkill than underkill.

I agree with Sawyen, go for a 7800GT if you can, it'll be soooo worth it.

Case, great choice, big Fan of Lian-Li. If you want an alternative I'd look at the Gigabyte Aurora 3D.

CPu Cooler, again Sawyen's on the money, I reckon the best out there is my Zalman CNPS9500LED, its not stupidly big, its incredibly easy to install, and if its done correctly in a decent case its performance is superb. And it'll do all that without deafening you. (its almost silent and full tilt. And my 3700+ is currently 25C, Thats pretty damn cold!

I second the CPU choice, very impressive chip.

As far as coolers go, you can't go wrong with an Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro or the Akasa Evo 33.

Cheers for the info,i did look into 7800's,but my budget was pushed getting a 6800,so i figured get a sli board and get anotehr 6800 down the line...as for the power supply hiper was my second choice first one was by "x-power" (also called jeantech 500w) called artic something, but i couldn't find reviews and also i saw many others renaming the same psu,so i opted hiper..still can't deicide which cpu cooler to go for i mean zalman look the best, but the price £20plus is a bit much....#

also would there be aissues running an sata hd and and ide ?

No issues running sata with pata, but if you want to install windows on the sata it might be worth unplugging the pata while you do so - windows can sometimes try and jump onto the pata out of preference
