    Sound cards/ chipsets and ripping

    hi all
    Do the make of sound cards ( pci ) or the mother board chip set`s for sound make any difference to the ripping of CD`s etc.

    If you're not doing any extra processing of the sound data (making it clearer, adding effects etc.) then no, it's all handled by your CPU.
