Help - Where to buy PC?

Hi

I'm looking for a computer for a work colleague and would like some ideas on where to go for it

The budget is maximum £600 but £400 would be ideal

It must come with a TFT (Bigger the better but money is the main factor)
Another spec it must have is a TV Card

It will mainly be for very light use such as internet and Office aps

I immediately advised her to go for a Dell system with a 15" TFT but then the TV card threw me a little - I certainly wouldn't advise her to go opening up a Dell system and throw a TV card in!

Does anyone have any ideas on this?

you'd be hard pushed to find many people selling machines with TV cards in, uless they're MCE machines.

you could always get a cheap dell, and plug in a USB receiver...

I'd agree, for those general needs and that budget a £400 dell machine will do the job.
As for TV, check this out from Scan, £40.

For an idea of Dell machines, try here and check out the one in the middle.
For £479 inc Vat and Delivery, it comes with a 17" TFT, a DVD re-writer and a P4 for a generally solid system. Printer included too.

Be aware that for the £479 price you need to change the standard setting back to 1 year warranty (Dell are buggers for automatically bumping up the price for this).

Got that Compromate on my ickle machine (for those interested, Compro USA "offer no planned support for 64bit at this time"....). Works great, but gets quite warm.
