Problem with new system - Dead Mobo ?

Have got an Abit Kn8 Ultra, Opty 144, Asus 6600GT and 2x512 Siemens RAM and 2x512 Crucial RAM.
So far everything worked fine. Today, loads of problem that started randomly -
The symptoms are no post OR long repeated beeps and no post OR no display through DVI port of the graphic card OR random crashing of Windows XP and memory dump.

This happened in the last day and is not software related (won't pass BIOS)
Occasionally, I can boot and everything is fine then suddenly the screen goes black and no reboot.
I have tried different memory sticks with no luck.

I suspect a dead Mobo but would like confirmation.

    Tia

run S&M and do a cpu test, and also a memory test, see what the result is

    http://www.benchmarkhq.ru/english.html?/be_cpu.html

there you go ^^, saves you searching google for S&M

Trying it as we speak (write). Not the most user friendly software but cannot see any error reported. Still think it's the mobo... Never seen anything as random!

Fixed everything now, no more crashing and POST ok but still no video output from DVI except through a VGA adapter. Could it be the 6600GT or my monitor (AG Neovo 19") ?

This was an issue with the first AN8 BIOS's that came out. It was apparently fixed in a later BIOS, but i STILL have the issue on my 6600GT too mate, so your not alone.
Im going to go and moan at Abit when i have the time.

Now, Have established that the DVI is due to my monitor, tried my Shuttle with it and nothing through DVI.

I have tested the memory with Memtest, nothing to report, tried to swap the modules, everything ok.

The computer seems to reset itself randomly and goes into a state where a reset does not do anything and occasionally when I restart it makes lon repeated beeps (I read somewhere it is ram badly inserted... For 3 hours or so now, it has been fine. I wonder if I should RMA the mobo or not, I got it from Scan at Xmas.
I have returned a mobo to Scan in the past and they found it fine and charged me for testing it and returning it. They were right as it was a duff PSU. This time I am a bit more confident in my Tagan 480W as it has been replaced as well in December!

    Talk about bad luck
