    Which memory should I use??

This will be for my primary rig that I will be doing a lot of video editing and rendering. It will be an AMD x2 3600+. It runs at 1.9ghz but I will probably be overclocking it to ~2.2ghz or so

    Anyway. Which would be better....2x512meg of DDR2 667mhz or 2x1gig of DDR2 400mhz.

Would the increase in memory size out weigh the decrease in speed?

    Edit.......

I actually have 2x1gig and 2x512meg of the DDR2 400mhz so total would be 3 gig in dual channel mode. I had already ordered the 2x512meg of DDR2 667mhz and just came into the DDR2 400mhz on Saturday. So just wondering which would be better.

In general terms, for the purposes you mention, and under a modern operating system, twice the amount of memory will be far, far more useful than smaller but (slightly) quicker memory.

Decrease in speed.... measurable perhaps in benchmarks, but not in day to day windows use. Go for the 3 Gig as you mentioned, a very easy choice.

2x1gb. If you use dual channel you will speed them up anyway. But it doesn't give you as much overclocking headroom, but then seeing as you're only getting 300mhz more out of it, it should suffice.

I got the M/B and processor in and installed the memory, now waiting for the pci-e video card to come in 2 more days so I can test it all out. This wait is killing me.
