been running 2 instances of prime for 11 odd hours hours is tyhat enough ?

been running 2 instances of prime one for each for on my opteron 165 and no errors will that be enough for general usage ?

how long would it take to burn in arctic silver using a couple of instances of prime ? i might do it each day for a week about 10 to 12 hours to make sure the cpu is "burnt in" so i can try and get prime stable on lower vcore

Depends if it crashes under general usage or not...

Its certainly long enough to prove prime is atleast vaguely stable.

If you game try Battlefield 2 to check stability because it is so buggy it will crash on a OC'd sytem and this is a good way to check stability.

My opty 170 stock volts will do 270 1:1 with my ram prime stable but will bug out of BF2 - nothing else.

To play BF2 I have lowered it to 250 stock volts and lowered the volts on my ballistix to 2.6v and tightened the timings to 3,3,3,6

    Still plenty fast
    Anyone seen my opteron?

BG2 isn't buggy, its just a system resource hog.

Well if you run it for 24 hours and it doesn't crash then you're sorted, but over 6 hours means generally stable.

well its still going and just went past 16 hours i have been using it done a virus scan also watched some freeview telly on it and recorded offside too althnough i doubt that was very taxing on the cpu it ran perfectly even running the 2 primes

im quite happy with it but this has been with fans on full i might turn them down a tough and let it cook that thermal paste thouroughly before i start lowering volts and fan speed

No using swiftech watercooling but it did do 2.7 on stock cooler didn't try it any higher. Got a unopened opteron 170 dunno whether to sell it or see if it clocks any higher.

My pair of ram shows permanent error in memtest but it failed prime95 blend mode after 10hr 42min. General usage its stable but it kept BSOD when I use terminal service (remote desktop) for a few hours (which seems to be using that memory location)

You can't avoid crashing even if it pass 100 hr prime95, your ram is not ECC and it is just prone to error...
