Can someone explain the differences between these asus motherboards please? In particular the new SE version, which doesn't appear to be on the Asus website.

yeah i can't find the se version anywhere on the net, but all the major retailers have it. It appears to support sata2, but just wondering whether anyone had any experience with them.

That's why... I always recommend going to the Global or Taiwanese site with most companies as they tend to be more often updated - or have a greater range of models.
