    Amd X2 3800 Stock Cooler

    is that right the x2 stock cooler is exact same as the single core stock cooler?

    the stock cooler i have is all aluminium

    I just built a pc for someone with an x2 3800 and it did have the same single core stock cooler. Think you have to go a few models higher or choose a dual core opteron for the new heatpipe cooler.

    and why did they not put it in the lower models and can you buy it or get a same as version?

    Yeah that looks like the new cooler. Don't think you can buy it tho. But if you wan't a decent air cooler at a reasonable price go with artic freezer pro cooler. I upgraded from this to watercooling and was only a few degrees higher.

    The freezer 64 should be a bit better than that heatsink you linked. Nothing much beats the freezer until you get to water cooling.

    They didn't put the heatpipe cooler on lower models because a) the X2 manchester 3800 runs cooler than the toledo and other X2s as it has half the cache on die (other models have all the cache, or all of it but half disabled) and b) as the budget dual core model they try to save money.

    That said the cooler is still fantastic

    U got to but the Freezer no questions or thoughts U will have much cooler CPU i have seen ppl drop from 38c to 33 with this on idle.

    I GOT THE frezzer 64 and it sorted all my problems now idles at 44 and i put the front back on as well if off it goes lower

    for the money it is the best fan
