    Dell Smart Card Keyboards

Anyone any experience with these? Seen a few going on ebay and look like they could be interesting.

    Thanks

I could be wrong, but i think they are only useful as a login mechanism. I've seen them offshore - Shell have smartcard logins for employees - although most places that use smart cards have USB readers.

Unless you get a programmer etc as well i don't think they would be much good for you. However if they are dirt cheap, they are good keyboards regardless

Yeah EDS use them as well and they are good keyboards (though no one seems to use the smartcard readers tbh).

may go for the multi-media version then, thought it might have been fun to have a play around with.
we use the standard version at work and I love it, currently using an apple pro keyboard but i'm not getting along with it.

    Cheers
