    Corsair Value Select

    hi

i have the above mem in matched 512 pairs (1gb) my question is i want to go to 2 gb is it better for me to get another Corsair Value Select matched pair 512 (1gb) or get matched pair 2gb (ie 2x 1gb) as i see it whould be a cheaper option to get 2x 512 than 2x1gb.., i am running duel channel now .. is it woth the sell mem and get 2gb matched??

also my mb is a A8N32-SLI ( i no about the mem for mb but is it worth the money??)

Depends on your CPU, which I see is very helpfully listed as an sx64..

With modern CPUs you only have to drop down to 2T with four banks, which I'd say isn't a problem considering the cost saving. However if you have an older one then four banks drops you to DDR333 which does make a difference and in this case spending the money on 2x1gb would be worth it.

yea good post that mate.. but i run photoshop .. looks like the value select 2GB is on the horizon..

    but is this
2GB (2x1GB) Corsair PC3500LLPRO (**A8N32-SLI**) 2-3-2-6, 2x184p unbuffered non-ECC DIMM Matched Pair ... worth the extra than getting value select??

If you have an X2 then four banks isn't a problem. You won't notice the difference going 2T timing. So my recommendation would be to get 2x512mb sticks.

But if you ignore that anyway then no, the PC3500 is not worth getting over the value select.
