Personally I'd say the abit, though its been a fair few years since I have used either. (last gigabyte was a TX2, and abit was a BD7II-RAID)

Can you not stretch to an asus M/b and a replacement N/B block?

KN8 SLI only because I know that it's pretty decent & I know sod all about the Gigabyte (btw initial reports of the AN8 32X are stellar but it's £135).
Slightly confused as I thought that you had ordered an ASUS SLI

How about fitting a passive chipset cooler on the A8N that you are trying to sell?

My AN8 Ultra has been superb, initial user reports (not reviews) of the AN8 32X are excellent.
I'll let you know about the AT8 that arrived this morning (thanks Scan, top service as usual).

do you need SLI?

I'd recommend gigabyte stuff. I switched from MSI mobos to gigabyte. Since then I've had 3 more of their mobos, a gfx card and a case from them and they are all of excellent quality IMO.

Big vouch for gigabyte stuff from me!

The A8N-SLI Premium £113. That would be my choice.

The Asus A8R-MVP is also supposed to be a good board - good value too at about £75.

Abit motherboards have really gone downhill in my opinion. Must be something to do with the company's huge financial troubles.....
