    slave HDD installation help

Just bought a new western digital 80GB SATA drive to use as a slave in my system. My problem is i dont understand RAID and dont know which driver download i need and how to apply it. So if 1 of u could write me a little step by step id be very grateful.

My mother board is a ASUS k8vsedx (i know it can be found in the manual but i bought a complete system and didnt get the mobo manual with it )

    Thanks in advance

Could you tell us what your sytem specs are especially the hard drive setup that you have at the moment.

If you just want to use the sata drive as additional space along with your current windows set up all you will need to do is to connect the harddrive to the motherboard as you would a normal pata/ide harddrive (except using the thin sata cables and sata ports). If windows does not recognise the new drive and automatically install the drivers you will need to go to the Asus site and download the sata drivers for your motherboard (K8V-SE deluxe).

Promise SATA378 Driver V1.00.0.26 (ATA Mode) looks like the one you will need.
