"Patch" Cable? Is This a "Cross-Over" Cable:S

I'm lost... im on overclockers.co.uk now about to make my order but a need a large cross-over cable and in the network cables section there is only "Patch" cables... wtf is a patch cable i have only heard of cross-over and straight through.
so all i want t know is what is a "Patch" cable? is a cross-over cable or a straight through:embarrassed:
all i want to do is link my main pc to another pc and give it access to my broadband... will this "patch" cable do this?:confused:

Patch cable would generally mean a straight cable, not a crossover.

If you're connecting PC-PC via network cards, you'll need a crossover. If you're connecting PC-Hub/Router/Switch you'll need a straight-through cable.

Phone overclockers and ask them what the cables are. Or go elsewhere - i.e. Maplin* have a 1m crossover for £4.99 or a 15m cable for £14.99...



*other suppliers exist.
