    Ps2 to USB convertor.

    So i bought this,

    http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=75619

Its a Ps2 to USB converter, I have a MS wheel mouse ( i like old school ball mice)
but it doesnt seem to be compatible and even with installing the mouse software
    nothing happens.

Does anyone have any experience with these things and have some
way of getting them to work?

Im guessing this is what i should have got but at this moment I dont love my mouse
    that much.

I had a feeling that it wouldnt work but i thought i would try my luck oh well.

I have a couple of these:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...roductID=79515

and whilst they aren't a perfect solution, then do generally just work. I have never had to load any driver software, it converts the PS/2 mouse & keyboard signals into a USB HID class device which should be supported by any modern OS. You won't get any joy out of Win95 or Win98.

That device I linked to on Scan doesn't require the mouse or keyboard be USB aware in any way.

I have had it miss the odd keypress on some PCs, so it isn't as good as a proper USB keyboard and mouse.

It's not going to give you the Plug-n-Play features of a USB mouse. You'll still have to reboot when you take it out / put it in.
