    It depends on if your going for major overclocks or not, the 2Gb kit here does me just fine:-

    Gets my little 3.2 Cpu to 3.9 happily enough.

    Once AMD AM2 socket is released and production ramps up then prices of ddr2 will come down.

    hopefully....... but thinking about it, why would this be the case? Where do 99% of pc's come from and what are a good 70% of them based on....... thats right prebuilds with Intel processors; so surely DDR2 production wont scale up just to meet the tiny demands of the PC enhusiast?

    Although i do hope im wrong, and we get some cheaper DDR2.
