Primary kit:
Fuji S5 Pro - Nikkor AF 50/1.8 - Nikkor AF 85/1.8
Epson RD-1
Film Kit:
Leica M3 - Summicron 50/2 DR - Zeiss ZM 25/2.8 - M-Rokkor 40/2
Olympus OM2n - Zuiko 50/2 Macro - Zuiko 50/1.4 - Zuiko 35/2.8
Looks good to me... nice 2nd gen chipset, and as you say it's putting out some bad boy speeds! Only thing I'm not so keen on is the ULi southbridge (I know they are supposed to be solid but... eww ULi ), and the fact that after you put a double slot graphics card in there is no usuable PCI-E 1x slot
Anandtech had a review but it's been pulled down! These boards aren't suppose to exist yet because ATi haven't launched the chipset, but some cheeky/lucky buggers have got their mits on retail boards already!

Got my eye on the R580 boards to replace my current board. I hope they can live up to a lot of peoples expectations.
Any idea on when these will be hitting the UK?

Rumour was that ATI's RD580 official launch date is 23 Feb.
Abit's AT8 32X is supposed to be ready to roll too.
I wanna see what DFI are gonna bring to the fore before I think about digging into the "pointless-upgrade-funds"
Yah, this chipset combine with DFI uber-clocking features, yummy.

Olympus OM2n - Zuiko 50/2 Macro - Zuiko 50/1.4 - Zuiko 35/2.8
No idea about the validity of the sources, but someone at Anandtech forums mentioned that DFI has no intention of releasing a RD580 board (presumably on 939).

Except that they've already got one in pre-production:
Looks very nice indeed, although teh HS around the CPU might cause problem for big HSF i guess

Hmmm, doubt it, should be fine. It would be a real rookie mistake, especially from a company like DFI who are supposed to be the enthusiast clockers, board.Originally Posted by Hans Voralberg

Generally speaking, I've heard more praise for motherboard layout for Asus than for DFI.
That said, I wouldn't mind the least if DFI releases a socket 939 RD580 boards: anything that might help with driving the prices down is welcome. I find it slightly absurd that the A8R32 is currently priced higher than the A8N32, when the former lack some of the gravy of the later (heatpipe/8 phase). Even if those are not necessary for the RD580, it should lower the price of the motherboard.
The Asus RD580 board only has 1 PCI x1 slot and that looks like my X1900XTX would actually block it
Waiting to see what the others produce as I want to go PCI-E Raid soon.

don't think it's an M2 board from the looks of it tbh
Agree, AM2 is supposed to have a completely new heatsink mounting.Originally Posted by bright_

Can't see anything on the ABit, DFI or MSI websites....
