36 gig raptor vs samsung spinpoint

I am having boot problems which i believe are hadr drive related due to an incompatability between my maxator hd and my nf4 board

I have 2 options, I could get a 250 gb samsung spinpint and do a direct swap or get a 36 gb raptor for £5 more and use the maxator drive as storage, the hd problems only seem to occur when the computer is booting

any advice on which i should get or how to fix the problem outright?

    What problem are you having?
If you got data corruption problem, send a email to Maxtor (with firmware version, serial number, etc) and they'll issue you a firmware fix for it.
I myself own 3 Maxtor 300G HDDs and 1 160G and they worked fine on all 3 of my NF4 boards.
Try turning NCQ off, NF4's NCQ seems to break things up for some people.
