    Case fans

How man fans does everyone have inside their midi cases.

Up until today i didn't bother to give them much thought but threads about cutting noise has got me thinking. I have a rear fan, 2 front(just in front of HD's), 1 at top beside PSU. I d/c them one by one and what a difference it made. Gathered they must be cheapy.

    Is 4 case fans overkill?

What depends on what you have... I am guessing you have two 80mm case fans at the front (like me). I am inclined to think 1x 120mm would be just as good and less noisy (unless you run a very cool PC, you need at least one intake).

And again, depending on what you have in your case, one exhaust from the PSU may be enough. But two wouldn't be overkill. You could slow down those fans and it'll be less noisy.

always the rule that the smaller the fans the noisier they'll be. You could always get hold of a fan controller or a resistor to put in and quiet em down. Or get new case fans, Akasa amber, silenx, noiseblockers are all good options and about £10 ea. I just got an akasa fan control pro and it's PIMP

    TN yeah, 4 80mm fans: 2 front, 1 rear, 1 at top.

Million it's got hi-fi sorta look. Worth it?
