I would send the card back and complain about the performance issues, could be a fault in the gpu.. explain that you reinstalled windows to wipe all traces of old drivers and still had the same issue. Then go get yourself an x800 XT, and you don't have to put up with sucky nVidia

I'm not an ATI fanboy, I just dispise nVidia (long story), if some company came out of nowhere and made a GPU better than the X1900 I'd buy it.

    Hi,

Can I ask a few hardware related things first of all before you blame the software?

Have you got the molex connector(s) connected to the graphics card? Not having them connected is gonna seriously knacker your performance.

Also, what is the Wattage output of the PSU? If it is too low or you've got like 6 HDD's in there then maybe it is not able to pump through enough juice to the graphics card.

As you have already done a reformat and are running the latest drivers it might be that the card has failed.

have you tried Rivatuner to see whats up in there? It's pretty good at telling you whats what in the card.

See if that helps and come back

I would suggest a BIOS update and the lastest chipset drivers then.
