on your spec you would be better off with 2 x 1 Gb of ram (2 Gb total) something like cosair value select £110.

as more is better than faster.
You xifi music is cheaper in scan than dabs £78.55

Your case does not have a power supply make sure you buy one with a 24 pin connector
With cooling your motherboard just make sure there are in take and exauhst fans in your case.
Edit go for a gefore 6800gs rather than just a 6800 as thy are much quicker.

I'd go for a lower spec on the cpu that can be overclocked easily to perform the same, and get a better gfx card ;)
Do you have any intention of utilizing the SLi?

How bout a dual core opteron instead of the 4400, and then a better graphics card. Unless you need 2 drives, simply having 1 DVD-RW drive is more than enough, I hardly use my CD-RW now I have my DVD-RW. Graphics wise, if you only do light gaming then a 6800 is fine, but otherwise you might want to consider the upcoming 7900, or an x1900xt Pricier, but if a gamer then could be worth it.
Hope this helps

can you tell me more about the opteron?
whats the difference between a amd 4600 and a dual core opteron?
what socket does opteron use?
what power supply would be good?
and i might get the 6800
and i do have some intension of using the SLI

I don't have a dual core processor and don't really see the need for them, but I guess it may be of some use in the future when apps start utilising it. Opterons use the same socket as Athlon 64 but allow more headroom for overclocking. As this is your first build is overclocking gonna be a priority for you? If you're intersted then stick with the fast ram. If not, go with 2gb as teachmeach suggested.
If you are gonna be gaming then a higher spec graphics card would be recommended. Even if you're thinking of SLI, 2x 6800 isn't gonna match the performance of a single 7800 series card.
Make sure you steer clear of cheap, unbranded PSUs. Seasonic are the best, but a tad pricey, the 500W model will set you back around £85. A 460W Akasa Paxpower would be a good choice, at around £50.

oh, and also, the cavalier is a pretty case but only has a 80mm front intake fan, which may be noisy. If you can afford to, go for an Akasa Eclipse, Antec P180 or Silverstone TJ05. If you're budget's getting a bit tight, the Coolermaster Centurion 532 is great

I wasnt planing on over clocking. I wanted a quiet pc so what case would you sergest? i do like cooler master cases since i currently have one.
