    Wireless gaming headset

    Hi all

Can anyone recommend me or point me in the right direction of headphones/headset with the following specification if one exists. The spefication points are listed in order of most important to me first.

    Wireless
    Includes Microphone
    5.1 surround or higher

Wireless is important because i have a tendency to chew through all my headphone wires, its a bad habit i have. I'll be using it for gaming and for use with my mp3 player.

The best i've found so far is this -

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=281485

but it doesn't have a microphone or 5.1

    Thanks

    Andy

I don't believe at the moment there are any 5.1 wireless headphones.

If there were, I would have bought them!

I can't really recommend any wireless sets because I've never used any, but the Medusa 5.1 headphones are really really good (they have a mic too). They are wired, but they have a stupidly long cable, so as long as you don't chew in the same place all the time, they should last you for some time!

You probably wouldn't be able to use 5.1 with your mp3 player anyway.

If you forget the 5.1 there are many options. If you want to walk down the street listening to mp3s on your headphones, then you clearly don't want a huge mic sticking out, or people will think you are bonkers. I'd look at the Motorola HT820 headset. I have a set of these on my wishlist. It's for mobile phones, but looks and works like ordinary headphones. It supposedly has a mic input, so you'll be able to use them for your mic needs. It does require bluetooth though.

I got the Medusa recently and they are very good. There are LOTS of wires though as the system works by putting the headphones between the soundcard and the speakers via a mini-box.
