    8 vs 16mb

Just curious, when looking at dabs.com for a new hard disk, I find that there are 2 versions of the Maxtor DiamondMax 10 available (PATA - all SATA sockets used) one with 8mb and one with 16.

Will it make any noticable difference - I can't see how anything but access times would be improved, and thats not of any relevance to what I want it to do, or have I missed something?

    Thanks for any help

    Dave

i have one of each and have used both as a boot drive and there is a tiny increase in speed, but nothing that makes you think wow.
