DVI cable question...

Sorry this is prob me being really stupid

my graphics card at the moment has 1xAGP and 1xDVI output on it, ive ordered 2xDVI TFT monitors. I know thre are DVI to AGP adaptors but are there DVI to AGP ones, or will i have to get a DVI splitter cable and run both monitors from the one port??

You mean one VGA, not AGP, ive never seen one go the other way round either. what monitors are they? a lot have both dvi and dsub

Most DVI monitors are DVI-D not DVD-I, that means it can't take non-digital signal. DVI monitors usually have a D-Sub(VGA) port. Almost all gfx cards use DVI-I ports which you can use a converter to transmit the analog part of the DVI-I output to the D-sub input of the monitor.

well the monitor has both VGA and DVI outputs, so do you think it would be better to use a DVI splitter to connect them both to the one DVI output on grx, or will it be best to connect one to analogue and one to DVI

It depends if you want to replicate screens or not If you need two desktops you dont really have a choice
