A newbie wanting to build a custom loop

I'm looking at building myself a new PC. I've built plenty of systems before, however, this will be my first custom loop build. As such, I'm looking for any guides or information regarding water cooling gear. For example, I'm pretty much set on running an RTX 2070 Super, but I have no idea which cards are compatible to use for water cooling. A friend of mine provided me a brilliant website which provided this information, however, I've misplaced that, but that's the sort of thing after.

It'll be a gaming rig with some casual software development. Here are the choices I've made so far:

• 3440x1440p 144Hz Monitor (Not many available, with a steep price. Could look for a 120Hz, doubt I'll feel the extra 20Hz difference)
• RTX 2070 Super
• Ryzen 3700X

Any thoughts or opinions would be welcomed.

Just be aware, prepare to spend a fair bit of money on a custom loop if that's what you want, you're talking a few hundred pounds.

Not that there's anything wrong with a custom loop if that's what you want, but have you considered alternatives, cost-wise? They're quite expensive for what they are, but at least adding in the GPU makes it more worthwhile IMHO. Just you may not see much/any return in terms of performance if that's your reason for wanting it.

The reason for building a custom loop is purely aesthetic. I’ve always wanted to build one, hard tubing. It’ll be a challenge but a fun one at that.

You’re spot on about the price, it will certainly add a few hundreds but i’m prepared for that.

Unfortunately that isn’t the website, although I have used that as part of my decision making for part ideas.

I’m actually pretty much set on what I want now, I just can’t find a founders edition RTX 2070 Super anywhere! Nvidia store has it out of stock, sigh.

What if you work backwards? Look at which GPU water blocks/backplates you can get on Scan/OCUK/EKWB then see which card you'd like the most? EKWB's website has a compatibility checker (https://www.ekwb.com/configurator/home) [use the right hand selector] and if you buy from them, they have a lot of options.

I have got that finalised. The waterblock and backplate I’d like is on EK’s website. It’s actually made for the RTX 2080, but it’s also compatible with the RTX 2070 Super. Gamers Nexus verifies this.
