    Looking for a PSU

    Hey people,

I'm looking for a PSU which can run a fairly average spec - DVD burner, 1 HDD, couple case fans, Pentium D 930, and a midrange graphics card.

This should be from the Scan range due to the free shipping. I'm looking at the £32 Tagan 330W at the moment, and want to grab something from around this sort of price area.

The only other requirement is that it doesn't have a bottom fan, as my case would block it off.

    Thanks

The Tagan is exactly what I was going to say, it's what I'm gonna put in my media centre when I eventually build it.

Hmm ok, what other options do I have?

I'll speak to the Scan dudes about that Tagan model anyway, if it's certified safe in the UK then I can't see a problem with it.

Thats put me off too, the other one I was looking at was the 330w Seasonic but that would be no good for you as it has a fan underneath.

I don't see anything majorly wrong with that report, it has shown to 'fail' when drawing unrealisticly high voltage from it, your powering a PC with it, not a deep space communications array. It also doesn't show that it will cause injury to machine or life..

Anyway, there's a 380W Tagen PSU going at overclockers for £37.54 which can supply higher amperate and is more 'future-proof'.

Yep the xclio is a great PSU. I've built 2 PCs with it so far and it's been great. For under £35 I don't think you can get a better PSU.

Perhaps a email to a certain link may be in order?

The Silver Power got a good review in Custom PC

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=256346

If you want to check the review out then do a search for 'SilverPower SP-400P1B' on the CustomPC site. Should find it in the Labs section.

    No experience of it though.

80mm fan - Antec Neo HE range are quiet if you're after a 80mm psu.

120mm fan - Seasonic S12 range if you want one that exhausts the hot air.
