its over buget but this is what i would go for. http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=217959

There is no point in getting 1GB anymore, unless on a tight buget

ill second that recommendation theres no point getting less than 2 gig for example games like BF2 run like crap on anything less than 2 gig

nutting wrong with corsair value ram m8, plus its backed up with a lifetime warranty

If you looking to overclock your machine then no this ram wont do, but for your average Joe running stock speeds then this is one of if not the best value ram on the market

    Cheers Cougs

In terms of... erm, nice silver heat sinks: TWINX2048-3200PT

For a greater memory speed: TWINX2048-4000PT

And finally, for tighter timings: TWINX2048-3200C2PT

Thanks. How are the G.Skills though? 2-3-2-5 at a similar price to the 3200C2PT.

My 2GB 3200C2PT run perfectly at 2-3-2-5 but if the G.Skill sticks stock at those timings for a similar price, I'd go with those.

Thanks. Just wondering, what are the trend of RAM pricing of late? Can we expect more price drop or is this more or less it?

As more people adopt DDR2, can we expect to pick up 2GB of budget DDR RAM for under £100?

I am not playing that much game right now, and for normal use, 1GB still seem enough (although my current RAM don't perform well at all).

Prices seem to have come down a hell of a lot already, I paid £190 for mine at the very end of last year, and now they can be picked up for £145. DDR2 has already been available for a while now so price shouldn't drop that much more. Just look at the price of old SDRAM, it's roughly the same as value DDR stuff.
