    Securing a Pen Drive

Pen drives are wonderful aren't they... I have two 1GB ones that I use (1 for work, 1 for personal) and it's brilliant to carry that much data around.

However, what if I lost it, or worse it got stolen ?

What does everybody do to secure the data on their pen drives ? I know you can buy ones with encryption built in (I think) but it's not something you think about at the time, is there anything you can do afterwards other than password locking files, putting files in password zip files etc. ?

you could use some kinda of file encryption program. Dunno if there's any pen drives with encryption built in (and if there were it would probibly cost a pretty penny or two.).

    I bought this one:

    http://www.sandisk.com/Products/Item...Drive_1GB.aspx

Which has some sort of built-in encryption software, that I don't use

It's on a keyring next to my house and garage keys, and keys for my car and the mrs' car. If I lose that, someone reading miscellaneous powerpoint presentations would be the last thing on my mind

I wear mine on my neck so if any1 want to steal it they would have to try a bit harder. If it contains confidential data then invest in one that have built-in encrytion, or those over-the-top measure like finger-scanning and the Kingston self-destruct pen drive
